As a psychologist, I have to be equipped with several tools to provide the best psychological work possible: being empathetic (ability to put myself in the place and to understand the experience of the other in the light of their perspective, beliefs and values, and not mine); convey respect and tolerance, security and knowledge. The client has to feel this, so that he can share his anguish, trauma or defective parts. This is the foundation of the therapeutic alliance, and I will always strive to keep it transparent.

The Internal Family Systems theory (Scharwartz, 2013), postulates that certain qualities are innate to the self, and necessary to live authentically and autonomously. Inspired by these characteristics, I encourage them in my client, and I do it by emanating them myself. I will cherish curiosity, compassion, calm, clairvoyance, creativity, courage, trust and connectivity. And beyond that, I will be present, persistent, patient, and provide perspective.

Psychotherapy generally makes you feel better. But in the long run, it can be a bumpy ride, as some tasks are naturally painful: remembering traumatic memories and experiences, or looking at and recognizing toxic tendencies. I will always keep your expectations realistic, I will be with you in pain and I will motivate you to remain curious about your inner world.

Although I prefer that the client decides the topic to work on in session, I am not a passive therapist: I will ask questions, ask for details, help you find words to describe your emotional experience, and make connections between things you said at different times. of the session. In a few moments I'm going to challenge the way you see life, or the resistance to trying new things, and I'm going to give you feedback on what you're saying and what we're doing.

I won't give you advice: I don't tell my clients what to do and I don't make decisions for them! I encourage my clients to make deliberate decisions about their lives based on their values ​​and goals, fostering their autonomy and maturity.
